Gold Prospecting in Kalgoorlie

We are always asked if people still find gold in Kalgoorlie / Leonora. Our answer to that is yes they do, but it takes time, effort, good access, experience, research, modern equipment and a touch of luck. Most finds are small but occasionally larger ones come up. The nuggets displayed on the hand in the image were recently found by a prospector using a minelab metal detector and weigh from about 0.2 grams to 5 grams. This can be seen as indicative of what an experienced prospector may find if they are lucky on productive ground in the Kalgoorlie - Leonora region in a week or two.
